Molly: 11 months. pt1

Like I told you last week, my friend Chelsie and I were out on a senior's photoshoot (I'm her assistant) and he was kind enough to be patient while she snapped a few pictures of Molly girl. It just so happened to be on the exact day she turned 11 months. 

Chelsie, my friend, you are amazing. Thank you for taking these precious shots of my girl. :)

Flashback to 1988

Update #2: The stink.

Again, I should state, lack of stink.

Two years ago, I started making my own deodorant.

Last year, I gave you my first update.

This past year though, I've covered a little more turf. My body has now experienced pregnancy, postpartum, and breastfeeding hormones. (And the return of Aunt Flo. TMI? Did you all need a warning before reading this post? Too bad. Such is the way of life. Quite literally.)

Moving on....

I really only noticed a slight change in my stink for a month or so after having Molly. Soon after, everything returned to normal. Which meant no smelliness. There were a couple of times that I thought about using "regular" deodorant, but I just decided to stick it out, and I'm sure glad I did. I guess our bodies just take a bit of time to regulate. 

So that's basically it. I still use it only every couple of days. Still works great. And I love that it's completely natural.

Interested in making your own? Here's the recipe:

¼ cup baking soda 

¼ cup arrowroot powder 

6-8 Tbsp coconut oil 

Mix is together and that's it. I store mine in an empty baby food container (my cute ceramic jar broke. Sad day.) and just spread a little bit on each pit. Good stuff, folks.

Friday Highs.v31

We had our snacks on a blanket out back earlier this week, which Molly girl loved! After the fact, she played with the bowls and read stories. Good times.

I know I say it a lot, but snuggles with this little girl are pretty much amazing. Every single morning, she snuggles for at least 20 minutes, sometimes longer. Makes this mama's heart swell.

Overall, it's been a really good week. And it's been a while since I've said that. I believe that as a follower of Christ, we are to be filled with Joy at all times, regardless of circumstances. A lot of people confuse happiness and joy. They are not the same. 

All that to say, this week, I am happy.

Busy Bee.

This week is crazy busy. I'm preparing for this friend's baby shower on Saturday and I cannot wait. 

Said friend and I were out on a senior's photo shoot the other day (I'm her assistant) and just had to take a quick stop and put Molly girl in these tulips. How adorable is this? I know I'm a little biased though. There are quite a few more pictures, but I'll have to share later. Busy bee, remember??

She loves to read.

We've developed a morning ritual over the last month or so that I've really been enjoying. When daddy leaves for work, we head into Molly's bedroom for a good 20-30 minutes and read.  

We read about animals. We read Bible stories.

We read about Jesus and we read about how much mommy loves Molly.

We read about the alphabet and always sing our ABC's (ok, mommy sings. But I'm sure she will join in sometime!)

Sometimes I kind of think of it as Eleven-month-old homeschooling preschool. HAHA. I'm just thrilled that my little girls enjoys reading.
